What is BIMI?
BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) is an emerging email standard that lets you display your brand's logo directly in recipients' inboxes. When properly configured, email clients like Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and Apple Mail will show your verified logo next to your emails.
This increases brand recognition, builds trust with recipients, and helps distinguish your legitimate emails from potential phishing attempts.
BIMI Requirements
DMARC at Enforcement — Your domain must have DMARC with p=quarantine or p=reject and pct=100.
SVG Tiny PS Logo — A square SVG logo following the Tiny PS (Portable/Secure) specification. No scripts, animations, or external references.
HTTPS Hosting — Your logo must be hosted on a secure HTTPS URL that's publicly accessible.
BIMI DNS Record — A TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain.com pointing to your logo URL.
VMC Certificate (Optional) — Required by Gmail and Apple Mail. A Verified Mark Certificate from DigiCert or Entrust that validates your trademark.
